Music

Soulful and diverse, brought to life by God’s Spirit.

Large & Small Choir

Singing….we do it together! When we sing together, we breathe together: our bodies settle into a deeper, unified awareness of God’s Spirit. That’s when singing becomes worship.

Our vision is of a “Large Choir & Small Choir”. The Large Choir is all the people gathered who join their voices in song at different points throughout our Sunday service. Words and music are presented on the screens in our sanctuary so that everyone can participate and become one large choir. The Small Choir is our thirty-voice mix of professional singers, music students, and lovers of singing from the community. The Small Choir shares two to three sacred choral works per service.

Our singing is accompanied by our Martin Pasi pipe organ and Bösendorfer grand piano. The music we sing comes from across the ages, encompassing different cultural traditions, diverse styles and languages, newly-composed works and contemporary Christian repertoire. All our music is focused towards the theme of each worship service.

Community Connected Music

We welcome many choirs and instrumental groups from the North Shore and Greater Vancouver who love performing in the fine acoustics of our space.

Community children, teen and adult choirs regularly rehearse and perform here. We also host recitals, concerts of professional choral, instrumental chamber and symphonic groups. Performers range from young children experiencing their first time “on stage” to seasoned, exceptionally talented professional musicians.

Our Church Organ

Our pipe organ, one of the finest in the province, was custom-built by Martin Pasi. It inspires our singing, accompanies choirs and soloists, and serves the broader community. A dramatic presence at the front of the church, it contains 1,851 pipes spread through 31 different stops, across two keyboards and a pedal board. It can be as soft as a gentle flute, or as grand as an orchestra, filling the space with so much sound that you can feel its reverberations throughout your body.
