United Church Women

Welcome to the UCW – the United Church Women!

The Women of the United Church play a vital role in the life and mission of the United Church. Women are welcome to participate individually in the various projects of the church and/or in one of the two formal groups: the Naomi and Oikoumene Units.

The Naomi Unit has a long-standing history of membership. These women meet monthly for companionship, support and participation in various projects. Recently, its members have been active in making and distributing Prayer Shawls to those in need of comfort both in the church and in the greater community at large. The Oikoumene Unit also meets monthly to promote fellowship, education and stewardship. Most meetings provide Devotional reflection time and group support for its members. The meetings host interesting and diverse speakers from various community organizations and focus on raising awareness to support those in need. Oikoumene members always leave a meeting learning something new.

The United Church Women are very active and creative in raising funds for the general church ministry. Many women volunteer their time and are involved with the Treasure Trove Thrift and Gift Shop to provide quality and affordable items to the community. The UCW is a very caring and supportive group of women and all women of the congregation are welcome. For further information please contact the church office which will put you in touch with one of the conveners.
