Rev. Dr. Ross Lockhart rlockhart@wvuc.bc.ca
Rev. Dr. Ross Lockhart was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. During Ross’ late teen years he felt God’s call into church leadership and practiced youth ministry in both Winnipeg and Toronto. After completing a Master of Divinity at Emmanuel College at the University of Toronto (that included ministry experience in Nova Scotia and Kenya), Ross was ordained and settled to Northern Ontario. While in the north Ross and Laura welcomed Emily into the world and learned what it means to parent on very little sleep. St. Matthew’s United Church in Belleville was the next stop with a rich and rewarding ministry in eastern Ontario. While at St. Matthew’s, the Lockhart’s family grew to include Jack and Ross completed his Doctorate in Preaching at McCormick Theological Seminary on the campus of the University of Chicago. Following a fantastic ministry/sabbatical with the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. Ross and Laura arrived in British Columbia to begin their new ministry together at West Vancouver United Church. In addition to preaching and Christian education, Ross is a published author, co-editing his latest work on the Trinity with a friend from Nova Scotia that is due out from United Church Publishing House in 2010. Outside of the church, Ross delights in his role as a husband and father as well as being an avid reader, dedicated jogger and lousy golfer. Ross looks forward to meeting you and your loved ones this Sunday at 10 am.
Rev. Laura Lockhart

Rev. Laura Lockhart is absolutely delighted to be serving the congregation of West Vancouver United Church. In her capacity as Pastoral Care Minister, Laura is looking forward to visiting and learning the stories of members and friends of West Van United. Laura grew up in Southern Ontario and has served United Churches in Southern and Northwestern Ontario and New Brunswick. She is the mother of two small children, Emily and Jack, and loves reading cook books when not chasing after them!
Minister Emeritus – Rev. John Gouws

Rev. John Gouws came to West Vancouver United Church in August 1984 and served as Senior Minister until his retirement in June, 2000. He continued at West Vancouver United in a part time capacity as Minister of Pastoral Care until September, 2004. On Sunday, September 19, 2004, he was inducted as Minister Emeritus of West Vancouver United Church.
Minister of Music – Gerald van Wyck

Gerald van Wyck has been Minister of Music at our church since February, 1987. He is a passionate believer in music’s ability to create community within and outside the church building. He unites his skills as a national choral adjudicator, a music history lecturer, and an orchestral conductor in his activities at the church, leading both the Church Choir, Pacific Spirit Choir and Orchestra, and accompanying our Worship Services on our beautiful organ and piano.
Caring Ministry Co-ordinator – Madelyne MacKenzie mmackenzie@wvuc.bc.ca
Madelyne MacKenzie has been with West Vancouver United Church since 1994 and joined the pastoral team in 1997 as the coordinator for the Caring Ministry umbrella, including pastoral visiting, care giver volunteers, and outreach in the congregation and community.
